About Evans Family Counselling and Psychotherapy

"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."

Anais Nin

We're so glad you're here

At Evans Family Counselling & Psychotherapy (EFCP), we do therapy differently. We see you—not just your struggles. Instead of focusing on labels or quick fixes, we take the time to understand your experiences and help you navigate life’s challenges with care and compassion.

Healing isn’t about suppressing symptoms; it’s about building a deeper connection with yourself. We support you in developing self-awareness, resilience, and the skills to navigate relationships and life’s ups and downs. Growth is an ongoing process, and we’re here to walk beside you every step of the way.

If you're looking for therapists who truly get it - who see the whole you - you’ve found the right place.

Marta, Heather, and Amy - the therapists at EFCP. They are sitting together and talking.

Maybe you've tried this before

A woman staring in the mirror, representing self-exploration and curiosity.

Maybe you’ve been to therapy before - talked about your struggles, but never truly healed them. Maybe you hit a wall and felt stuck.

Or maybe you’ve told yourself your problems aren’t “bad enough” for therapy because others have it worse.

We get it.

The anxiety and self-doubt. The overthinking, overworking, over-worrying. The perfectionism and people-pleasing. The habits you turn to - scrolling, drinking, numbing - just to get through. Feeling like something’s off but not knowing why. Reacting in ways you don’t understand. Struggling to show up as the person you know you can be.

And searching for answers in therapy - only to come up empty.

We do therapy differently. We help you get to the root of what’s really going on, so you can break the patterns keeping you stuck. Healing is possible. We can help you.

Our therapists aim to foster an emotionally safe environment where clients can explore difficult feelings, experiences, and memories without feeling overwhelmed or re-traumatized. We provide support, validation, and coping strategies to help clients regulate their emotions and manage distress effectively.

We uphold high ethical standards, maintain professionalism, and prioritize the well-being and autonomy of clients throughout the therapeutic process.

Our aim is to cultivate authenticity in our interactions with clients by being genuine, sincere, and congruent in our words and actions.

We don't withhold important information or misrepresent our abilities or expertise.

We support clients in exploring and clarifying their own goals and priorities instead of imposing our own agenda or values onto clients.

We are committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based care that is tailored to meet the individual needs of each client while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and client-centered practice.

Our therapists continually engage in professional development to enhance their clinical skills, expand their knowledge base, and stay current with developments in the field of psychotherapy.

We strive to understand the cultural context of clients' lives and how it may influence their beliefs, values, and experiences, and we adapt our therapeutic approach accordingly to ensure that treatment is culturally sensitive and relevant.
