Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy helps you navigate your inner world with compassion. Imagine your mind as a family, where different parts of you hold emotions, beliefs, and roles. Some parts carry pain from past experiences, while others step in to protect you from that pain. This can create inner conflicts—like a perfectionist part that pushes you relentlessly while an anxious part fears failure. Beneath these, a more hidden part might hold deep shame or self-doubt.
IFS therapy, sometimes referred to as inner child work, helps you identify and understand these parts, allowing you to move from feeling stuck to feeling balanced and whole. With your therapist’s guidance, you’ll learn how to build a compassionate relationship with all parts of yourself, so they no longer work against each other but instead work together. As you create space for healing, old wounds begin to soften, making room for greater self-trust, confidence, and clarity.
All of our therapists at EFCP incorporate IFS principles into their work. Marta, a Certified IFS therapist, has extensive experience using IFS as her primary modality, helping clients reconnect with themselves in a deeper, more meaningful way.
