Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a compassionate and transformative approach to understanding your inner world. Imagine your mind as a family, where different parts of you hold various feelings, thoughts, and roles. Some parts may carry burdens from past experiences, while others work to protect you from pain.
In IFS therapy, you'll get to know these different parts of yourself and help them work together harmoniously. Your therapist will guide you in creating a safe and accepting inner environment, where you can heal from past wounds and discover your true self. This process empowers you to lead a balanced and fulfilling life, where all parts of you feel heard, understood, and valued.
How often do you recognize the sense that there are different urges or wants inside? Feeling stuck often means that different parts of you are in conflict or overwhelmed. For example, one part of you might want to move forward and take risks, but another part feels scared and tries to hold you back to keep you safe. This internal tug-of-war can leave you feeling paralyzed and unable to make progress.
IFS therapy helps you identify and understand these parts, allowing them to express their concerns and desires. By building a compassionate relationship with each part, you can help them work together in harmony. This process not only resolves inner conflicts but also empowers you to move forward with clarity and confidence.
Marta has specific training and experience with IFS, and it is the main modality that she uses in therapy.
